Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Meaghan George, MA, MACP, RP (Qualifying)
I have a master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Concordia University, as well as a Master’s in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. These two complimentary aspects of my training allow me to combine therapeutic exploration and processing with more structured and active interventions and maintain a grounded focus on meaning and values. I work with adolescents—14+ and adults.
My approach is strength-based and integrative: I meet you where you’re at with respect, curiosity and compassion and create a supportive environment that allows you to express yourself feely, gain clarity, and discover more about your own strengths, desires, and capacities.
Theoretically, my work is grounded in the values-driven action methods of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and supported by narrative, emotionally-focused, and relational techniques. My sessions are always client-centred and collaborative, prioritizing self-compassion as we work together to bring your discoveries more fully and practically into your day-to-day life. My background in creative arts therapies offers us the flexibility to incorporate a number of supportive techniques, based on your particular needs, interests, and goals. I care deeply about working respectfully with clients to access your inner resources, helping you to find ways to heal and thrive.
